Introduction: The History of Automechanika
One of the most successful B2B trade fairs in the world, Automechanika has a history spanning five decades. 1971 marked the first event which was organized as a replacement of the International Motor Show (IAA). The IAA was canceled citing a global showdown that year. This event attracted 400 exhibitors and the numbers haven’t seen a slowdown ever since. Today, Automechanika as a brand represents almost 20,000 exhibitors and boasts of about 600,000 worldwide visitors. Automechanika Kuala Lumpur has become an annual event that incorporates activities and showcases for industry players, reflecting the growing global focus on sustainability, technological innovation, and solutions for mobility and logistics across the automotive industry.
